Character Education

Developing Strong Character in your students.

The Character Doctor, Gerald Coury, has been involved in character development in school leadership since 1998. There are two basic components to building character in any school. First, there is training for leadership such as principals, teachers, coaches, and counselors. This can be done through a live on site training. The cost for a 4 1/2 hour live training is $995 plus materials. This can also be done through a DVD training. Second, is the curriculum and resources. We have a wide variety of user- friendly materials from K1-12. The materials are designed so that teachers can incorporate them easily into the classroom. Elementary School


	Series 1-4 Audio Tape This audio cassette tape allows you to teach a song three ways: the complete song with piano and vocal accompaniment; phrase by phrase; or piano accompaniment only. Choose which method works best for your class.


	Series 1-4 Teacher’s Binder These Elementary Teacher’s Guides are designed to teach kindergarten through fifth grade classes. Each 3-ring binder contains nine, 16-page teacher’s guides filled with historical examples, nature stories, songs, crafts, and memory work that focus on a specific character quality. Also includes a set of the corresponding Character Cards in a plastic holder. The booklets in this series include:


	Series 1-4 Character Card Set Remind students about the qualities you teach with collectible Character Cards. Each glossy card displays the nature illustration with the quality’s definition and identifies practical ways it can be applied. When pieced together in the plastic holder, the Character Cards form a bigger picture on the back.


	Series 1-4 Compact Disc This audio CD allows you to teach a song three ways: the complete song with piano and vocal accompaniment; phrase by phrase; or piano accompaniment only. Choose which method works best for your class.


	Series 1-4 Mini Poster Set These 8 1/2″ x 11″ Mini Posters can be placed just about anywhere. Each poster corresponds with the elementary nature lesson. The nature story taken from the Teacher’s Guide is given on the reverse side. Each Mini Poster set includes nine posters


	Series 1-4 Poster Set These jumbo-sized posters are perfect for bulletin boards, hallways, walls, and doors. Each set includes ten 17″ x 24″ posters–one for each character quality, and an overview poster that highlights all nine qualities in all the series.


	Series One Parent Preview Set Help parents catch the vision of reinforcing character. Send these informative pamphlets home with your students to report what they learn at school. The set includes nine handouts; one for each of the qualities in Series One. Available only in Series One


	Series 1-4 Demonstration Video Set This Resource Video set includes 3 VHS tapes, each approximately 120 minutes in length. These videos are designed to help teachers learn the Character First! nature stories, songs, memory work, and hand motions for each character quality in Series 1-4.


	Series 1-4 Songbook If you prefer to use live accompaniment, use this songbook to teach or play the character songs from Series 1-4. The book includes sheet music with chord notations and words, and this is excellent for piano, keyboard, guitar, or voice. For intermediate to advanced players.


	Series 1-4 Classroom D V D Set Use this five-disc set to teach your children the songs, memory work, hand motions, and nature lessons from the Series 1-4 Elementary Curriculum.

Middle/ High School


	Secondary – Series 1-2 Teacher’s Binder Series One Secondary Teacher’s Binder includes nine teacher guides and one Tips and Tools booklet. Each 16-page booklet defines and illustrates a character quality using true accounts of esteemed historical men and women who made a difference and whose legacy lives on. Lessons focus on history, nature, language, art, math, computers, social studies, health, and athletics to engage students and demonstrate how character affects every area of their lives.
